Good Afternoon Board Member Nessel:
This email is in response to the above-referenced OPRA requests which were
sent to the Newfield Board of Education (“Board”).
As an elected board member of the Newfield Board of Education I am
requesting any and all
communications including but not limited to emails, memo and or faxes
exchanged between Joe Giambri and the Porzio Bromberg and Newman law firm
from November 1, 2022 through November 23, 2023. Because these requests
were made under OPRA it must comply with the rules and regulations which
govern such requests. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. Your request for all
communication between Joe Giambri and Porzio, Bromberg, and Newman from
November 1, 2022 to November 1, 2023 is granted, subject to the attached
redactions. These communications contain attorney-client privileged
communications. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1(9) (excluding from OPRA “[a]ny record
within the attorney-client privilege” and permitting the redaction of
attorney invoices). Therefore, there are redactions included in the
attached, which are exempt from disclosure as they are attorney-client
privileged communications. In the future, any requests for communications
must provide the names of the individual and topic or search terms. Your
request for the contract for legal services between the Newfield Board of
Education and Porzio,Bromberg, and Newman is granted.
