Last week, we discussed your OPRA Request regarding the Fire Department's
response to the fire in Claridge House 2. I still await a response from
the Police Department which has been in communication with the Fire
Department. I require an additional two weeks to obtain the documentation
you request. Your new deadline date is on or before September 21, 2023.

The response to my request has been delayed.and by law, the authority of Cedar Grove should normally have responded promptly about the Cedar Grove Fire Department responding to the fire in Claridge House 2.
Cedar grove fire responders were here as first responders.

Good morning,
You submitted the OPRA request on August 29th. Day 1 of processing begins
the day after submission - August 30th. The deadline for responding to
the request was seven (7) business days unless you are advised of an
extension. The seventh business day would've fallen on September 8th.
You were notified of the need for an extension on Day 6 which was
September 7th to allow the Police Department more time to confer with the
Cedar Grove Fire Department. I advised you that the new deadline was on
or before September 21st. You actually received a response on September
18th which was well before the deadline.
I provided the response that was submitted to me by the Police/Fire
Departments. "There were no documents on file regarding your request."

Dear Cedar Grove Township,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Cedar Grove Township's handling of my OPRA request 'Claridge House 2 fire r'.
I was told there is no information regarding the Cedar Grove FD responding to the fire in the Claridge House 2. I personally spoke to a CG fireman who was first on the scene. I do not understand how the FD and the PD show no record of this information.

Good morning Ms. Rachael:
As you are aware, on September 18, 2023 the Township responded to your
prior OPRA request regarding the Cedar Grove Fire Department’s July 3,
2023 response to the Claridge House 2 that it is not in possession of any
responsive materials. Upon receipt of your supplemental request seeking
“an internal review” of the handling of your request, the Township
conducted an additional search and identified the attached record as
potentially responsive. We trust that this satisfies your inquiry. Your
OPRA request is now deemed answered and closed.
