Dear Ocean County Prosecutor's Office,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
On August 15, 2024 Christian Kohl, SBI 107490J was arrested in Brick, New Jersey by members of the OCPO for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. I am respectfully requesting a copy of the OCPO arrest report and eCDR/complaint including the statement of Probable Cause. This is a follow-up to a respectful request made on August 17, 2024, and your response on August 28, 2024, that the records were not available at that time. Thanks

Dear OCPO_OPRA,
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. The OCPO received NCMEC Cyber-Tip(s) in April 2024. Beginning in May, 2024 the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office began an undercover invest. In August, 2024 Kohl was arrested. There is a “live victim” in this case, a child under 18 years of age who was communicating with Kohl.
Thank you and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for identifying and preventing (hopefully) a tragedy.
