Dear Pleasantville City,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:
All Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage, including audio and video, from any and all Pleasantville Police Department officers involved in or present during an interaction with a female resident at the Pleasantville Police Department headquarters on April 13, 2026, occurring between approximately 2:45 PM and 4:15 PM.

This request specifically includes, but is not limited to:
• BWC footage from Officer Velazquez
• BWC footage from any additional unidentified officers present or involved
• Any footage capturing the initial interaction in the public area/lobby,
• Any footage capturing the detention and movement of the individual into the rear/interior of the station,
• Any footage capturing communications regarding her alleged immigration status or contact with federal immigration authorities (ICE),
• Any footage capturing the period of detention and subsequent release

Incident Description (for identification purposes only):
The interaction involved a resident who entered the Pleasantville Police Department to file an unrelated missing persons report and was subsequently detained by officers after providing identification, based on an alleged federal immigration-related matter. The individual was later released following intervention by legal counsel.

Date of Incident: April 13, 2026

Time Window: Approximately 2:45 PM – 4:15 PM

Location: Pleasantville Police Department, City of Pleasantville, New Jersey

Officers Identified: Officer Velazquez and at least one additional unknown officer
