Good afternoon,
For July 4, 2025, we had a total of 8 traffic stops (list attached) due to
the amount of time needed to upload watch, redact and watch again this
would take approximately 20 hours with no arrests and about 30 hours if
any arrests were made. This volume of materials triggers the need for a
special service fee pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5
For the purposes of the fee estimate, the City calculates the review of 8
traffic stop BWC's for a total of 20-30hours to review the materials.
The lowest rate of a person authorized to perform this work is $65.00 per
hour. Therefore, the estimated fee is $1625.00. The City requires a fifty
percent deposit of the estimate before it will move forward with this
request.
In the alternative, you may seek to clarify or refine your request. For
example, limiting the search to a specific stop will reduce the amount of
potentially responsive documents to review and, therefore, reduce or
eliminate the required fee.
Please let the City know within five (5) business days if you
want the City to proceed with the remainder of your request as presented
or if you wish to refine or cancel your OPRA request. If you wish to
proceed, please provide the fifty percent deposit via check made payable
to the City of Asbury Park. If the City does not hear from you within
five business days, we will assume that you have abandoned this part of
your OPRA request.
Thank you,
Tracey
