Dear Town of Newton,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Good afternoon.
This Department is in receipt of you request for body worn camera footage
for traffic stops performed on July 30, 2025.
Please be advised the cost will be $3,500 payable to Newton Police
Department by cash, check or money order. Payment must be received prior
to any footage being released.
Please advise no later than September 23, 2025 if you still wish to obtain
said footage.

Good Afternoon,
We are in receipt of you OPRA request 2025-292 received on September 15,
2025. Our Police Records Clerk, Diane Seaman reached out to you via email
on Monday, September 15, 2025 and advised the cost for the footage you
requested would be $3,500, and gave a deadline of no later than September
23, 2025 to confirm you still wish to obtain the footage. As of close of
business today, that deadline has passed. Therefore, OPRA request
2025-292 is now considered abandoned, and closed. If you change your
mind, you will have to submit a new request.
