Burlington County Library System Material Reconsideration Records, 2022-Present
Dear Burlington County,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
All Request for Reconsideration forms submitted to the Burlington County Library System (BCLS) from January 1, 2022 through the date this request is processed, including but not limited to:
1. The completed Request for Reconsideration form for each submission, including the title, author, creator, or other identifying information for the challenged material, the format or medium of the material (including but not limited to print books, audiovisual materials, digital resources, periodicals, and online content), the date of submission, and the nature of the reconsideration requested (removal, reclassification, restriction of access, or other);
2. The written response issued by the Library Director for each submission, including the date of response and the final determination;
3. Any written recommendations issued by the review committee convened in connection with each reconsideration request;
4. Any records reflecting materials that were subsequently withdrawn, reclassified, or otherwise removed from the BCLS collection following a reconsideration process during the same period.
If any records are withheld in whole or in part, please identify each record withheld, the specific statutory exemption claimed, and the factual basis for applying that exemption, as required under NJSA 47:1A-5(g).
