Dear Oceanport Borough,
Under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., and New Jersey Common Law, I am requesting the following public records:
1. Copies of all issued Construction Permits (Building, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire) between January 1 2020, and January 15, 2020. Please also include copies of the Construction Permit Application (Form UCCF100).
I would like copies of these records sent to me via email.
This information is not being sought for commercial purposes.
The New Jersey Open Public Records Act requires a response time of seven business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount of time, please contact me with information about the cause of delay and when I might expect copies.
If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.

I am in receipt of your notice that Ms. Smith has extended her time away from work. Is anyone else handling OPRA requests during her extended absence? I am requesting a change to my original OPRA request to the following:

The lack of response and delay to my OPRA request is unacceptable. If I am not in receipt of my requested documents by the end of this week I will have no choice but to file a formal complaint with the Government Records Council.

Mr. Fisk,
During my medical absence it appears you submitted requests for records to
my email account. Per your copy of the email below, you received the
automated response advising where OPRA requests should be submitted and if
you needed immediate assistance to contact Kim Parent in my absence. So
your request was responded to upon receipt with direction on where to file
your request as required by law. A review of our request system and the
email account for Ms. Parent does not show any subsequent request by
yourself for records. Should you choose to file a complaint with the
Government Records Council I have documented this for the record.
That said, I would like to work with you to get you the records you are
seeking now that I have returned from my medical leave.
Please confirm the records you are seeking by responding to this email.

RESPONSE:
The Borough of Oceanport has received your Records Request (OPRA)
dated 09/30/2020. The official Records Custodian received your
OPRA request on 10/01/2020. As such, the seven (7) business day
deadline to respond to your request is 10/13/2020.
PLEASE NOTE that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the
Governor's declaration of an emergency, response to records may
take up to 21 business days, however the Custodian will inform you
if additional time is necessary due to staffing levels and
accessibility to records.
