Dear Brick Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Please provide the following information in an excel spreadsheet with tabs that correspond to each request on properties that:
1. have been documented as abandoned/vacant within the last year
2. have been documented as in probate within the last year
3. are absentee-owned
4. have code violations within the last year exceeding $1,000 - please include balance owed and type of violation
5. are more than 2 months delinquent in paying their property taxes within the last year
6. are more than 2 months delinquent in paying their sewer bill within the last year
7. are more than 2 months delinquent in paying their water bill within the last year
8. are scheduled to go to tax sale
9. have municipal liens that were not sold during the most recent tax sale
10. have received a water shut off notice within the last three months
11. Class 2 properties with outstanding property tax balances greater than $2,000

Partial response to your OPRA Request below:
#1 & 3 - Please see the below request for clarification from our 3rd party vendor ProChamps:
"PROCHAMPS is seeking clarification on the Custodian's request as the request sought access for all the vacant properties in the City.
At this time, we request clarification of the OPRA request because the current request is overbroad and fails to identify with reasonable clarity the specific government records sought, as is required.
For the sake of clarity, we can provide access to "properties" that have been Registered through the Custodian's system on behalf of the community. So, for example, your request could state you want access to:
1) for all registered vacant foreclosure and private owner properties in the City; or
2) for all registered vacant foreclosure properties in the City; or
3) for all registered vacant private owner properties in the City; or
We need to confirm
1) Properties that are in Foreclosure and Vacant,
2) Properties that are not in Foreclosure and Vacant (VPO),
3) or both?
Note: We can only provide information on 'registered' (paid) properties."
#2 - The Township does not track properties in "Probate". Perhaps contact the Ocean County Clerk's Office who handles deed transfers.
#5, 8, 9, and 11 - Please see attached and the note from our Tax Collector's Office:
"Attached are the Trial Balance Listing showing the Township Liens and a Delinquent Listing as of today.
We do not have the ability to print delinquent listings showing only properties "more than 2 months delinquent within the last year" or "class 2 properties with outstanding property tax balances greater than $2,000"
We do not have a Tax Sale Date at this time, therefore we cannot provide a listing of properties "scheduled to go to tax sale""
#6, 7 and 10 - The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority is a separate entity than Brick Township Municipal and you would have to contact them directly regarding their records. They can be reached at 732-458-7000.
I am still awaiting a response for #4 regarding Code Violations.
