The Township of North Bergen (“Township”) writes in response to your 05/06/2025 request seeking records pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, et seq. (“OPRA”).

Response: The Township maintains no record responsive to “report number SC 2012 23059.” The “SC” prefix denotes a Special Complaint that affords a private citizen to sign a complaint against another person for an offense. A copy of complaint SC 2012 23059 has been provided to you. This complaint was issued by a private citizen through the Municipal Court, and was not issued by a police officer or member of the police department.
The corresponding police report 12082842 documents an investigation of an allegation of 2C:12-1(A), a criminal investigatory record which is exempt from production pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1 and/or N.J.S.A. 47:1A-3. Accordingly, your request is denied.
