Dear Truth Seeker,
The Board is in receipt of your Open Public Records Act ("OPRA") request.
Specifically, your request sought:
“Emails sent to and from Chrissy Skurbe and Karen Bierman with the
following subject headings or keywords: "ethics complaint", "SEC", or
"School Ethics Commission", that were sent between August 1,
2022-September 30, 2022.”
Your request requires additional time to respond due to the need to review
potentially responsive records for confidential information and due to the
significant demands placed on the District with regard to the
exceptionally large number of OPRA requests the Board has received. OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5(i). Specifically, OPRA states that “the requestor shall be advised
by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the record is
not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Accordingly, your request requires an extension of time until January 6,
2023. Please be advised that the District is closed between December 26,
2022 through January 2, 2023.
