Dear Records Custodian,
Under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.), I am requesting copies of the following records from the Millburn Police Department regarding the incident that occurred on February 23 2025 in Parking Lot J at the Short Hills Mall, involving a red Buick Envision whose driver allegedly fled police, nearly struck two officers, and was later arrested for eluding, aggravated assault, obstruction, and CDS-related offenses.
Requested Records:
1. All body-worn camera (BWC) footage recorded by responding or assisting officers during this incident (full, unedited recordings preferred).
2. Any dash-camera video related to the same stop or arrest.
3. The complete incident and arrest reports, including officer narratives and any supplemental or investigation reports associated with this case.
If these records are temporarily withheld because the investigation or prosecution is ongoing, please confirm this in writing and indicate the anticipated release date. I understand the incident may still be under review and am willing to wait for release once permitted.
Please provide the materials electronically (email or download link).
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Sincerely,
