Dear Town of Phillipsburg,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records Requested:
All body-worn camera (BWC) footage recorded by any and all Phillipsburg Police Department officers present at or responding to 712 South Main St. or any location in Phillipsburg, NJ on January 12, 2023, in connection with the arrest of Jabari Amador and the execution of a search warrant at his residence. This includes BWC footage from initial approach, entry, search, and arrest through the time the subject was transported. Also requested: any incident reports, arrest reports, CAD logs, and field notes generated by Phillipsburg PD officers in connection with this incident. Subject was charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of children for manufacturing child sexual abuse material and subsequently sentenced to 18 years in NJ State Prison on September 27, 2024.
