Dear Hoboken City,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested: body cam footage for August 31,2025 approximately at 4:00am my girlfriend was assaulted and we made a report and just have ptsd and the night is in flashes would like to know what happened in full.

The City of Hoboken has received your OPRA request Log # 26-704. Per the Hoboken Police Department, "Although OPRA permits access to body-worn camera recordings by a “subject of the record,” the statute expressly allows for denial or redaction where disclosure would violate a person’s reasonable expectation of privacy (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1). The requested footage involves allegations of a sexual offense and contains sensitive details. Disclosure, even to a subject, would compromise significant privacy interests protected under New Jersey law. HPD Records"
