Body cam footage - October 2022 at RCBC

Mount Laurel Township did not have the information requested.

*Please ignore the prior request for the same information. This is the correct one. Thank you.*

Dear Mount Laurel Township,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

Body camera footage from any police stops/responses/calls specifically on the Rowan College at Burlington County Campus in October of 2022. This request is sufficiently narrow due to the small number of MTL Police and RCBC property incidents in any given month.

Yours faithfully,

J.M.

Meredith Riculfy, Mount Laurel Township

Aaron DiPeri,

Good morning,

I received your OPRA request on 08/22/2023 seeking the following:

Body camera footage from any police stops/responses/calls specifically on the Rowan College at Burlington County Campus in October of 2022.

I did a search on all crimes and incidents reported to our agency during the month of October 2022 that had our Officers respond to any one of several buildings on the grounds of the Rowan College at Burlington County Campus. Despite there being a few calls to the campus and several motor vehicle stops in the area, no body camera footage exists as the retention period for the footage has lapsed.

It's important to note that body camera footage is only retained in certain situations where retaining the footage as evidence would be necessary for prosecution of a crime or offense. Some of the reason's we would retain body worn camera footage would be if an arrest was made, a crime occurred or something of evidentiary value was captured. In researching this OPRA, no calls were discovered on the grounds of the Rowan College at Burlington County Campus during the month of October, 2022 that would have met the criteria for retaining body worn camera footage.

Thank you and stay safe!
