The City received a public information request from you on June 10, 2026.
Your request mentioned:

OPRA request - Body Cam and NJ Transit footage 26-082591

Dear Jersey City,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under
OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out
an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my
request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a
requestor including all of the information required on the adopted
form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government
record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of
New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial
purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

This is related to auto accident report 26-082591, 5/4/26. I am with
one of the insurance companies involved and requesting the body cam
footage related to this accident the NJ Transit Dash Cam footage. When
we spoke with NJ Transit (claim C-98458-01) we were told we had to
make an OPRA request for the footage as they were unable to share.

It is currently a word vs word loss as our driver, Leonardo Barrientos
is stating he had a green arrow - this is associated with our claim

Dear Ms. Astroski, please be advised that your request has been circulated
to the Div. of BWC for the requested bodycam footage.  However, the City
has no jurisdiction over other entities' records. Hence, we have no
jurisdiction over any NJ Transit dashcam footage. You would need to file
an OPRA request with them, not us.
