As you may be aware, P.L. 2024 c. 16, adopting amendments to the Open Public Records Act, became effective 9/3/2024. This new legislation requires a requestor to certify to the following items prior to a request being processed:

1. I HAVE / HAVE NOT (select one) been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States;
2. I, or another person, WILL / WILL NOT (select one) use the requested government records for a commercial purpose; and
3. I AM / AM NOT (select one) seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

The Borough of Seaside Heights does not provide body worn camera footage or any other type of video footage via direct download link. You have the option of obtaining the videos on a flash drive for $5.00 including postage, if necessary. The cost of the flash drive and the postage are direct costs incurred by the Borough in providing the requested documents, and are permissible in accordance with NJSA 47:1a-1 et seq.
Please respond in writing indicating how you would like the requested videos to be provided in person or via mail. If by mail, please include your name, mailing address and zip code. Payment may be made via cash, money order or check in person or money order or check via mail. Payment must be received before the flash drive is released.
If we receive no response within five business days of the above listed date, or by August 4, 2026, we will consider this request completed and closed.

Hi Anna,
The fee for the flash drive must be paid prior to you picking it up. If you would like to drop off your check you need to take it to the Borough Clerk's Office located at 100 Grant Avenue, Seaside Heights. Once the flash drive is ready to be picked up, I will reach out to you. Please let me know when you have dropped off the $5 fee and I will have the Officer that prepares the flash drives complete yours.
