OPRA provides overriding public policies in the legislative findings (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1) which must be considered during the handling of all OPRA requests for access to government records. Those public policies are:
-Government records must be readily accessible for inspection, copying, or examination by its citizens, with certain exceptions, for the protection of the public interest.
- Any limitations on the right of access to government records must be interpreted in favor of the public’s right of access.
- A public agency has a responsibility and an obligation to protect a citizen’s personal information that is in the possession of a public agency when disclosure of that information would violate the citizen’s reasonable expectation of privacy.

This Authority in no way is impeding, nor denying your request or any other party for OPRA information. It is a simple matter that we have an official form that needs to be completed to facilitate this request which I have been provided to you.
Thank you for providing the public policies and citations as you provided, however we are very familiar with the obligations which the Authority has regarding OPRA.
Upon further review of your request, I have determined that you are at the improper venue for this request. This is a matter that you will have to inquire with Little Egg Harbor Township. The Authority is solely responsible for water and sewer related issues. The paving of Stage Road and the bidding regarding the same has been performed by the Township of Little Egg Harbor.
