Audio from 2/11 Township Committee Meeting
Dear Cranbury Township,
Under OPRA and the common law right of access, please provide the following records:
1) Any audio or video recordings of the February 25, 2019 Township Committee meeting.
Thank you kindly,
Charlie Kratovil
Mr. Kratovil,
Per your OPRA request, I attempted to attach the audio recording of the Township Committee meeting of February 25th. Please be advised the attachment is too large to be sent electronically. Due to that fact, a copy of the recording must be placed on a CD. The OPRA fee is $ 0.50 per CD. We do not have a video recording of the meeting, only audio. Please advise if you prefer to pick up the recording at Town Hall or have it mailed. If you choose for it to be mailed, I will supply you with the postage fee after the final recording is completed and it is weighed for postage. I need to receive the payment before processing. If you plan to come to Town Hall for pick up, I ask that you contact me at least (2) business days prior so that I may prepare the recording.
Also, please confirm which meeting date you are seeking the recording for. Your subject line states "Audio from 2/11" and the body of your request states "February 25, 2019".
I will await your response regarding the meeting date and the delivery means you prefer. This request is now considered pending until response is received or (7) business days has completed with no response from requestor.
Thank you,
~Debbie

Dear Ms. Rubin,
Thank you so much for your thorough response. Sorry for the confusion. I am seeking the recordings from the 2/25/19 Committee meeting.
I appreciate your presentation of the options to me. As you may know, I don't live in Cranbury so a trip there to pick up the CD is not ideal. However, there are a couple of other options that I would like for you to consider.
Many web-based services allow for free electronic transfers of one or more large files. Google Drive (drive.google.com) and many others offer free storage space online where files can be placed in folders that can be shared with others. This service has no cost, but requires you (and the recipients of the files) to sign up for a Google account, which most people already have. This is how several Municipal Clerks have sent large files to me in the past.
There is also WeTransfer (WeTransfer.com), which does not require you to sign in or log in. This service allows you to send files up to 2GB, or the equivalent of 3 CD-ROM's, simply and easily through the web. I often ask my reporters to use this service if they need to send me large quantities of photos or videos.
May I suggest that you use one of these services to send the file to [email address]? This could eliminate the need for a super-small payment to be processed and for me to take a trip to Cranbury. It would also save you a CD, and would likely be more efficient. Please consider this and let me know how we can proceed.
All the best,
Charlie Kratovil
Mr. Kratovil,
Thank you for your timely response and your suggestions. Be advised that we have used this method of delivery for this type of request without issue in the past. I am uncomfortable using the alternatives you suggest at this time, but I will look into the possibility in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please advise how to proceed.
* To Mail: $1.30 Total ($0.80 postage + $ 0.50 CD) - Make checks payable to the Township of Cranbury
* To Pick Up: $0.50 Total ($0.50 CD)
Again, please give me 2 business days' notice if you plan to come in for pick up so that it is prepared prior.
I ask that you confirm receipt of this email and further request your response before Friday, March 8th.
Thank you,
