Re: Attorney Invoices 2016-2017
Dear Community Member:
I am in receipt of your recent OPRA request, whereby you requested the
following:
… copies of any and all attorney invoices for New Hanover Twp from January
1, 2016 through December 31, 2017.
Please be advised that responding to this request will require the review
and redaction, if applicable, of two years (24 months) of detailed
attorney invoices for a variety of legal work performed for New Hanover
Township. Given the scope of your request and the anticipated time it will
take to review and redact the responsive records, responding to this
request will be extraordinarily time consuming and warrants the imposition
of a special service charge pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(c).
Conservatively, I estimate it will take at least seven (7) hours to review
and redact the responsive documents. Utilizing an hourly rate of $16.71
for myself, based on my annual salary of $34,759, the special service
charge will be approximately $116.97. However, should the review take
longer than anticipated, you will be charged accordingly.
OPRA requires that you be provided with the opportunity to review and
object to the special service prior to it being incurred. Should you agree
to the special service charge and wish to proceed, kindly forward a
deposit in the amount of $116.97 made payable to New Hanover Township. It
is anticipated that I will be able to respond to your request within ten
(10) business days of your agreement to pay the special service charge and
receipt of payment.
