Ms. Ratke,

Be advised, effective September 3, 2024, Governor Murphy had signed into law significant OPRA reform legislation. Changes range from new exemptions to new processes for requestors and custodians. Attached you will find a copy of the new adopted Model OPRA request form which also can be located on our website under the Clerk’s Office. We recommend to use the form to ensure full compliance however written equivalents are still allowed via email but must include all components required by NJSA 47:1A-5(f), (g).

We apologize for any inconvenience as we are still acclimating to the new OPRA guidelines. If you have any questions, you can seek guidance on the GRC website Government Records Council (GRC) (nj.gov).

Best,

Edison Police Records
