I am writing to request access to and copies of records Freedom of Information I am seeking information related to an arrest that occurred on 07-01-2021 associated with the Incident number #21-01401

Please include all relevant documents, reports, and any other information pertaining to this arrest. If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me, However, I would like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public's understanding of the operations or activities of the government

Under the authority granted by the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.), I am formally requesting the release of all body-worn camera and dashcam footage pertaining to the specific incident outlined below:

This request encompasses all unaltered footage from both body-worn cameras and vehicle dashcams involved in the incident.

In compliance with the New Jersey OPRA, I expect a response to this request within seven business days as stipulated by state law. Failure to meet this deadline will result in my seeking judicial relief to enforce compliance under the statute.

Please inform me of any fees associated with the processing of this request prior to proceeding. The timely and unimpeded access to these records is essential for maintaining public transparency and upholding New Jersey's statutory requirements.

The Township of Bloomfield received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
Request on July 16, 2024.  This response to your request is being provided
to you on July 22, 2024.

 

Your response is due on July 25, 2024.  However your request requires
additional time to fulfill.  The Department needs additional time.  OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5.i.  Specifically, OPRA states that, “the requestor shall be
advised by the custodian when the records can be made available.  If the
record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”

 

Your request requires an extension of time until on or before August 6,
2024.
