Architect/Builder Names of Favorite Houses
Dear Longport Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.

Hi there! My name is Michael and I am working on a project for an architecture class. Can you please provide the architect's/builder’s names for the following four addresses? If the interior floor plans are available to view, could you please send them along as well? Thank you!

Thank you for your OPRA Request 2023-82.
Your request includes copies of building plans. Under OPRA, building plans are exempt per the OPRA security exemption N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1. The architectural rendering and site survey are permitted under OPRA. If the documents are available, would you be interested in copies of these two documents?
Please note that the Borough has made exceptions if you are the homeowner of record or if you are representing the homeowner in an official capacity. If you are representing the property owner, please provide written authorization from the homeowner allowing you to receive copies of their building plans.
As you have indicated in your email request, building plans can be requested under Common Law. The requester must provide a reason that your right of access outweighs the State’s interest in preventing disclosure. Can you please provide your reason under Common Law.
In the meantime, I have reached out to the Building Department to see if they can provide the names of the builders/architects for the properties you listed.

Thank you for your clarification to your OPRA Request 2023-82.
Your request includes copies of building plans. Under OPRA, building plans are exempt per the OPRA security exemption N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1. The architectural rendering and site survey are permitted under OPRA. You have not indicated whether or not you are interested in these documents. The Building Department has provided the attached information regarding your OPRA request indicating which properties have these documents available. They have also provided builder and architect information for the homes based on the dates you provided.
I have forwarded your reason under Common Law for access to these plans to our Borough Solicitor for review. It has been determined that your reason to right of access does not outweigh the State’s interest in preventing disclosure for security and privacy reasons.
Please let me know if you are interested in the site surveys for the properties you requested.
