This office received your OPRA request today, 10/5/2022.  In response to
your request, the Ocean County Comptroller has advised as follows:

1)      Records and/or documents related to the awarding of funds to Ocean
County related to the American Rescue Plan.  Response – Refer to the
attached record.  In addition, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has
published detailed allocation information for the Coronavirus State and
Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, including Allocation for Counties, which is

2)     Records and/or documents related to the distribution of funds
from/to Ocean County government.  Response – Ocean County has received the
first installment from the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the amount
of $59,969,381.  These funds have not been distributed, as Ocean County is
in the process of preparing the ARPA Plan.

3)     Records and/or documents outlining how the Ocean County
Commissioners are or will be distributing the funds awarded to Ocean
County as part of the American Rescue Plan Act.  Response – No record
exists, as Ocean County is in the process of preparing the ARPA Plan.

Dear Ocean County,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law
right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please
acknowledge receipt of this message.

According to public records, the Ocean County government was allotted
$117.6 million are part of the American Rescue Plan Act. While New Jersey,
county, and local governments are utilizing these funds to ease the
taxpayer burden and improve law enforcement it is important that the
citizens of Ocean County know what the county government is doing as well.
