Ambulance EMS 7 Not In Service

Currently waiting for a response from Union City, they should respond promptly and normally no later than (details).

Dear Union City,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), I am requesting copies of all records relating to Ambulance EMS-7 on May 31, 2026, specifically during the time period of 7:00 PM through 7:45 PM.

Please provide:

Any and all telephone calls received by Union City Dispatch between 7:00 PM and 7:45 PM concerning, referencing, or attempting to put Ambulance EMS-7 out of service.
Any dispatch/CAD records, call logs, or dispatch entries indicating that Ambulance EMS-7 was “not in service,” unavailable, out of service, or otherwise unable to respond during this time period.
Any records documenting a request to place Ambulance EMS-7 in service, out of service, unavailable, or back in service during this period.
Any recordings or audio files of telephone calls to Union City Dispatch during this period that specifically concern Ambulance EMS-7, if such recordings are maintained and are subject to disclosure under OPRA.
Any CAD comments, notes, annotations, or status-change entries associated with Ambulance EMS-7 between 7:00 PM and 7:45 PM.

Shift Change Policies, Procedures, and Communications

Please also provide any existing written policies, procedures, protocols, directives, standard operating procedures, memoranda, or other written guidance maintained by Union City EMS Administration concerning the proper procedure for shift changes, relief of EMS crews, transfer of responsibility between shifts, and/or ensuring that an EMS unit remains in service during a shift change.

Additionally, please provide:

Any and all emails, memoranda, notices, directives, or other written communications sent to Union City EMS Administration sent to EMS members/EMT’s concerning proper shift-change procedures or expectations.

Please provide the responsive records electronically, if available.
