Good Afternoon,

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your OPRA request dated Thursday, November 21, 2024, which seeks access to the following records: “Allendale Police Department CAD Detail Reports with Officer narratives from 11/08/2024 to 11/15/2024.” After reviewing your request, we have determined that due to the volume, nature, and format of the records requested, fulfilling the request will require an extraordinary expenditure of time and effort. As such, a special service charge will be assessed in accordance with our borough ordinance, which stipulates that:

A special service charge shall be imposed in addition to the actual cost of duplicating the record where the nature, format, manner of collation, or volume of printed matter is such that it cannot be reproduced by ordinary document-copying equipment in ordinary business size or where such record involves an extraordinary expenditure of time and effort to accommodate the request.

In light of this, the estimated cost to fulfill your request is $550.00. We are estimating 25 hours at $22.00 per hour. A deposit of 50% or $225.00, will be required before we can fulfill your request. The balance will be due before the documents are sent.

You have the opportunity to review and object to the special service charge before it is incurred. Should you wish to proceed with the request, please provide your consent and a deposit of $225.00 of the estimated cost. Once we receive your deposit, we will begin processing your request.
