Tyler M Neher made this OPRA request to Sea Girt Borough Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Sea Girt Borough did not have the information requested.

Dear Sea Girt Borough,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

All records - including but not limited to police reports, body-worn camera recordings, sent emails, received emails, 911 call recordings, and associated documents - resultant from and connected to motor vehicle stops conducted by the Police Department from 00:00 on 22nd May 2024 up to and including 23:59 on 25th May 2024.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Yours faithfully,

Tyler M Neher

Dear Sea Girt Borough,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Sea Girt Borough's handling of my OPRA request 'All records resultant from and connected to motor vehicle stops by the Police Department from 22nd to 25th May 2024'.

Without any reply to-date from this authority on my request which is now nine full days beyond the legal deadline of when my OPRA request should have been engaged on, my sole course of action remaining is to request this review.

A full history of my OPRA request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://opramachine.com/request/all_reco...

Yours faithfully,

Tyler M Neher

Good morning Tyler,
My name is Jennifer, and I just received your request this morning from
the Records Custodian. I understand that you are requesting all
records—including but not limited to police reports, body-worn camera
recordings, sent and received emails, 911 call recordings, and associated
documents—related to motor vehicle stops conducted by the Police
Department between 00:00 on May 22, 2024, and 23:59 on May 25, 2024.
As the sole person handling records for the police department, I process
OPRA requests alongside other daily responsibilities. Given the scope of
your request, I want to provide an update on what this entails:

• There were 85 motor vehicle stops during the requested timeframe.
• The request includes over 200 videos that require review and redaction
for personally identifiable information.
• 911 call recordings are not maintained in-house and must be requested
directly from the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office.

Due to the volume and complexity of the materials, I will need an
extension to fulfill your request, though I am unable to provide a
definitive timeline at this moment. However, if you are willing to limit
your request to police reports only, I can process and provide those much
more quickly, minimizing the impact on our department’s daily operations.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed. I appreciate your
patience and understanding.

Dear Jennifer Fary,

Thank you for your patience with me getting back to you. Let us filter my original request down to only those which involve vehicles with the New Jersey license plate K40PNB. This should be suficently helpful in condensing the records set into a more than reasonable deliverable for you.

Please confirm your receipt of this reply and an updated processing status.

Yours sincerely,

Good morning, Tyler,
Apologies for the delay—I was out for a few days.
Thank you for narrowing down your request. I searched for NJ license plate
K40PNB within the specified time frame (00:00 on May 22, 2024, to 23:59 on
May 25, 2024) but found no results.
