Chief,

I just got off the phone with Steve from SK environmental and he was very apologetic for the lack of communication due to family leave. I truly sympathize with his responsibilities and the fact that no invoice was ever submitted. He did inform me the report will be done next week and there are currently no health concerns as per his last email. He did in turn provide me with recommendations to remediate areas in question including one of which my department have addressed (Processing room).

At this time we have not received any invoices or request for payment from them.  But I will make note and alert Toni to hold anything we receive until all issues have been resolved.

Thanks Chief.

Lenny, do you know the status of the report & remediation plan?

I have added Caroline since possibly holding payment was mentioned.

Michael and Lenny,

First and foremost, thank you both very much for your support and help with this issue.  Please see the below information regarding the inspection in headquarters for air quality and mold.  The inspection and testing were completed on August 3, 2023.  On August 24, 2023, the company conducting the tests provided a brief synopsis of his evaluation and advised the full report and remediation plan would be delivered in a few weeks.  It has been over nine (9) weeks since the initial testing and we still have not been provided a report or remediation recommendations.  As you will learn below several attempts have been made to contact the contractor with no response.  I feel the lack of response is unprofessional and unacceptable.  In my opinion the Borough should hold all payments until the completed report and remediation plan is provided.  I think we should meet soon to develop a plan in case he doesn’t provide a report and remediation recommendations.

Please let me know if either of you hear anything further on this.

Thank you.

Chief Geist,

On August 24, 2023, Lenard Vidal and I received an email from SK Environmental providing a brief synopsis of his evaluation of the Middlesex Borough Police Headquarters building. Steve Olivetti from SK Environmental advised that the complete, full report would be available and provided to both Lenard Vidal and me within the next few weeks. I followed up with Lenard Vidal on 9/13, requesting if he had been in contact with Mr. Olivetti and if he received the report, to which I did not receive a response. On 9/14, I emailed Steve Olivetti also requesting an update on the full report, to which I did not receive a response. On 09/20, I again contacted Lenard Vidal for an update, and he replied that he has not been provided with the full report, nor has he been in contact with Mr. Olivetti.
