All documents that identify all the vehicles owned by Rockaway Township
Dear Rockaway Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
> Documents identifying all vehicles owned by the Township.
> Include Police, Public Works and all other departments.
> Each department assigned a vehicle.
> Identify if full time or work vehicle.
> Current mileage on each vehicle.
This request is for the Rockaway Township Financial Review Board. We are asking for this information in support of our research to complete a proposed Master Plan for the Township. Thank you in advance for working on this request for us.
Respectfully,
Joseph Simon

Mr. Simon,
Please see attached in response to your OPRA request filed with the
Township on February 9^th. Please be advised that the document being
provided to you is a list that is already maintained by the Clerk’s
office, it contains some of the information you are looking for, but not
all that you are requesting. The Township does not maintain a report
containing all of the information that you are seeking.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Christina Clipperton

Dear Ms. Clipperton,
Thank you for your response regarding my request for Rockaway Township fleet inventory. The report will be very helpful in our research on the Rockaway Township Financial Review Board. We found the report to be well managed and somewhat concise. We still have additional evaluation of the report to do and will get back to you if we have any questions.
Two area's we requested but not provided were the current mileage on the vehicles and if the vehicle was used full time by the assigned driver or rotated for work purposes only. We would not need this information for Patrol cars or heavy duty public works vehicles. If you can provide this information it would be extremely helpful towards our research.
The Financial Review Boards goal is to maintain the high level of service that is being provided to our citizens under the current administration. We are attempting to do this in the most cost effective ways possible.

Mr. Simon,
If you wish to have the additional information you requested, you will need to contact Administration. I apologize for the inconvenience but OPRA is a tool to obtain records that are already kept by a government agency. The additional information is not something that is maintained in a report. The additional information would require "research". While I myself would have no objection of assisting you in obtaining the additional information, I do not have the authority to direct the various Department Heads or Township Officials to compile this information for you. Administration would have that authority.
Again, I apologize for this inconvenience. If you feel that I may be able to be of any further help, please let me know.
Respectfully,
