The Township of Blairstown received your request for government records on
March 26, 2020 pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”). Due to
the Governor’s State of Emergency and the Township’s designated Local
State of Emergency related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), which have
resulted in significantly altered work schedules, including reduced
staffing in the Municipal Building, the Township requires additional time
to complete your request. See Scheeler v. N.J. Dep’t of Educ., GRC
Complaint No. 2014-123 (Feb. 2016), (validating extension
under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g), and N.J.S.A. 47: 1A-5(i) where custodian
provided written response within seven business days and provided
anticipated completion date). The Township anticipates
that records readily identified as responsive to your request, with any
necessary redactions, will be available to you by the close of business on
April 26, 2020 However, due to the fluid status of the COVID-19
emergency, the Township reserves the right to extend this date as
necessary.
