Dear New Jersey State Police,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), I am requesting access to the following records related to a boating incident that occurred on June 1, 2025, at approximately 10:15 PM near Channel Marker 14 in Barnegat Bay:
Incident Report: Any official reports detailing the circumstances of the crash.
Witness Statements: Statements from individuals who were present or have information about the incident.
Investigation Records: Documents pertaining to the investigation, including findings and conclusions.
Media Releases: Any public statements or press releases issued by the involved agencies.
Please provide the records in electronic format if possible. If any records are exempt from disclosure, please specify the legal basis for the exemption. Trooper's name, incident location and date/time)
Step #5 - Submit the request. Upon submitting the request, you will
receive a confirmation number that begins with "W" followed by a series of
numbers.
