By copy of this email, I ask that Larry Creveling, Zoning Officer respond about closed permits. Be advised that the Borough does not have local inspectors and therefore rely on the State Construction Code Office - They would have record of all Open and Closed permits for Plumbing, Electrical, Building, etc. - 908-713-0722 - Ron Famularo - or go to 171 Route 173, Asbury, NJ 08802.
If an oil tank was removed, State Code may have a permit for removal on file. The Borough would not.
You must contact Hunterdon County Board of Health regarding the septic.
Regarding the question you left on my voicemail about the process for doing a septic repair: The home owner would hire an Engineer for the design work, submit $250 to the Borough for a perc witness fee, (an additional $250 would be required if any waivers are needed to cover the Borough Engineer's review time) , then the plan must be submitted to the HC Board of Health. Once County approval is received, a memo would be sent to the Borough for review by the Borough Engineer. He would then issue a memo to the Council (acting as the local Board of Health) and a Resolution of approval would be drafted by the Borough Attorney and adopted by Council.
