Dear South Brunswick Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA, Title 39, and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested: Copies of all crash reports and criminal complaints related to fatal crashes that occurred in the year 2024 and were investigated by municipal police.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

In response to your request, please be advised the South Brunswick Police
Department has no responsive record.

For future reference, be advised N.J.S.A 47:1A-1.et.seq. states, "The
custodian of a public agency shall adopt the form established by the
Government Records Council pursuant to subsection b. of section 8 of
P.L.2001, c.404 (C.47:1A-7), for the use of any person who requests access
to a government record held or controlled by the public agency. The form
shall provide space for the name, address, email address and telephone
number of the requestor and a brief description of the government record
sought. A request shall be submitted by a requestor in the form adopted by
the custodian and the custodian may deny a request that is incomplete, … A
completed form adopted by the custodian, a letter, or an email from a
requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form
shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record
request. … If a letter or an email from a requestor does not include all
of the information required on the adopted form, the custodian may deny

◦ Three crash reports for I-2024-007630, I-2024-026632, I-2024-026648
are available.

Kindly forward a check in the amount of $15.00 ($5 for each report, Motor
Vehicle Crash report fee per [1]N.J.S.A. 39:4-131, OPRA allows an agency
to charge fees “prescribed by law or regulation” [2]N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(b)
for copies of reports requested other than in person).  The check can be
made payable to South Brunswick Township and mailed to:
