Dear Lacey Township School District,

Records requested:

New Jersey mandates that students attend school 80 days a year or so minus school absences. Some adolescents are sentenced to juvenile detention.

In the 2007 - 2008 school year, if an adolescent lacey township resident was released from juvenile detention in may, would they be required to attend lacey schools for the rest of the year to meet the compulsory number of days required for New Jersey students?

Did Lacey township schools receive/accept any adolescents as students in the 2007 - 2008 school year from the New Jersey department of corrections or any other type of youth facility mandated by the government/courts (not seeking substance abuse cases)?

How many students, even including those whose attendance was shorter than a week, in the 2007 - 2008 school year were admitted from juvenile detention or correctional facilities.
